Redact personal details from a screenshot before sharing it

Load a screenshot you have permission to edit. Drag a rectangle over names, email addresses, phone numbers, ID numbers, addresses or private account details. Export a new flattened PNG with those areas replaced by opaque black pixels. Nothing is uploaded to Reclaim.

Up to 15 MB, maximum 28 megapixels. Preview and export dimensions are capped at 2400 pixels on the longest edge. Do not use this tool to edit evidence in a misleading way; keep the unaltered original privately if required for a legitimate report.

Choose a screenshot. Then drag across each sensitive area to cover it in opaque black.

Keyboard-accessible redaction coordinates

If dragging is difficult, enter a rectangular area in percentages of the image width and height.

Important limitations

The exported PNG contains opaque pixel replacements, not a movable overlay, but this cannot erase copies of your original screenshot elsewhere or guarantee a recipient cannot infer a hidden value from context. Review the downloaded file before sharing. Do not include evidence of suspected child sexual abuse material in this tool; use appropriate official reporting instead.
