A synthetic intimate depiction on X may violate the NCII policy

X's current intimate-content policy covers AI-generated, edited and manipulated sexual depictions of identifiable adults when the material is non-consensual. The report should describe the false or synthetic nature of the image and the affected person.

What to do

  1. Locate the specific X post URL and note whether the media is a still image, video, GIF or preview.
  2. Identify the non-consensual sexual depiction and the real adult whose likeness is used.
  3. From the post menu, choose Report.
  4. Select Private or Non-Consensual Content and the relevant option for unauthorized intimate content.
  5. Explain that the depiction was generated or altered if that is true, without portraying it as an authentic private photo.
  6. Add other violating posts as permitted by X's current reporting flow.
  7. Keep report details and verify each post's availability after review.
  8. For copies hosted outside X, use each host's own privacy, abuse or eligible search-removal procedures.
Important: Reporting, acknowledgment, a platform decision, source removal, and search removal are distinct outcomes. A report is not a guarantee of removal.

Policy distinction

X permits some consensually shared adult content but prohibits specified non-consensual depictions and sexual deepfakes of identifiable people.

Context matters

Reporters should identify the affected subject and lack of consent; false positive matches or consensual portrayals need different treatment.

Common questions

Is a fake image covered?

X's current policy expressly includes AI-generated or digitally manipulated sexual depictions.

Does X remove the image from Google?

Not directly. Search visibility and the hosting platform are separate.

Use a coordinated case

Reclaim keeps website removal, Google/search removal, deadlines, verification and monitoring separate so one successful step is not mistaken for complete removal.
