StopNCII does not cover the entire internet

StopNCII shares locally generated hashes with participating companies. Those companies may remove matching content if it violates their policies, but non-participating websites, private folders and unrelated search indexes are not automatically covered.

What to do

  1. Review whether you meet StopNCII's eligibility criteria and can access the original content on your device.
  2. Use the official StopNCII site to generate hashes locally rather than transmitting the originals.
  3. Check StopNCII's current participating-platform list for the services you want covered.
  4. Keep a separate list of any public URLs on networks not included in that partner program.
  5. Use each non-participating host's report system for eligible intimate-image abuse.
  6. Track whether the source file disappears and whether a search engine continues to list a result.
  7. Check case progress through the official case number and PIN workflow.
  8. Update expectations whenever platform participation or the status of an individual image changes.
Important: Reporting, acknowledgment, a platform decision, source removal, and search removal are distinct outcomes. A report is not a guarantee of removal.

Participating-platform limitation

StopNCII explicitly says it cannot remove images from the whole internet; only participating services can match and evaluate the shared hash.

Best combined response

Pair privacy-preserving protection with specific source reports and eligible search-result requests rather than treating any one tool as a universal solution.

Common questions

Does StopNCII find every leaked image online?

No. Its match-and-review process is limited to participating platforms.

Will it permanently delete someone else's copies?

No. It cannot reach private or unsupported copies held outside participating platforms.

Use a coordinated case

Reclaim keeps website removal, Google/search removal, deadlines, verification and monitoring separate so one successful step is not mistaken for complete removal.
