Remove a personal sexual image from Google Images

Google has an in-product removal flow for personal sexual images. Starting from the image viewer lets eligible adults report a specific image and explain whether it was shared without consent or synthetically created. This is a Search visibility request, not a deletion at the host.

What to do

  1. Open the image in Google Images while signed in to your account.
  2. Use the image viewer's More menu and choose Remove result when offered.
  3. Select the option indicating the image sexually depicts you and follow the eligibility questions.
  4. Distinguish real non-consensual content from an AI-generated likeness when the flow asks.
  5. Identify additional matching images only when they depict the same reported harm.
  6. Review any optional future duplicate or related-search protections before submitting.
  7. Record the request in Results about you and separately note the actual hosting page.
  8. Check the outcome without assuming the original hosting page disappeared.
Important: Reporting, acknowledgment, a platform decision, source removal, and search removal are distinct outcomes. A report is not a guarantee of removal.

What the new flow can do

Google's image viewer reports may group additional images in one request. A decision to remove a Search result does not remove the source file or its copies on other sites.

What to document

Keep the displayed image-result link, original hosting URL, relevant identifying context and the resulting request status. Do not redistribute sensitive images to ask for help.

Common questions

Do I need to send the image to Reclaim?

No. Follow Google's own authenticated flow and start any Reclaim case with public URLs when possible.

Does a Google removal erase the image online?

No. A hosting site can continue to serve the image after Google stops displaying its result.

Use a coordinated case

Reclaim keeps website removal, Google/search removal, deadlines, verification and monitoring separate so one successful step is not mistaken for complete removal.
