Check whether Google accepted or rejected your image report

Google centralizes authenticated image-removal requests in its Results about you hub. A submitted request, an approved request, a removed search result and a removed source are four different facts and should not be collapsed into one status.

What to do

  1. Sign in to the Google account used for the original image-removal request.
  2. Open the Results about you area and find Removal requests.
  3. Select the request to view its decision and the relevant image URL.
  4. Check whether Google reports an approved, pending or rejected outcome.
  5. Confirm the specific Search result no longer appears where it was reported.
  6. Open the hosting URL separately to determine whether the original page remains accessible.
  7. Update your case record with the decision date, source status and result status.
  8. For new copies or a rejection, use Google's official guidance rather than repeatedly filing inaccurate duplicate reports.
Important: Reporting, acknowledgment, a platform decision, source removal, and search removal are distinct outcomes. A report is not a guarantee of removal.

What an approval means

An approved Google Search removal relates to Google's own index or feature. Search results can vary over time and by query.

Why source verification matters

Removal from a search engine cannot establish that the material has been deleted from its original website.

Common questions

Where can I check a request?

Google describes the Results about you hub as the place to view removal requests.

Can Reclaim see my Google account status?

Not from a public URL. Keep the Google account report private unless you choose to share non-sensitive details.

Use a coordinated case

Reclaim keeps website removal, Google/search removal, deadlines, verification and monitoring separate so one successful step is not mistaken for complete removal.
